Institution: The Think Tank DEA

Interest and/or practice of interdisciplinarity:

I am Head of Analysis at DEA, a Danish non-profit think tank on science, innovation and education policy. Interdisciplinarity in research and education has been a central theme in our work since 2008, in recognition of the importance of cross-fertilization and effective integration between disciplines for addressing societal problems and challenges. I am currently particularly interested in better understanding how policy makers can support interdisciplinarity. Before joining DEA, I have worked as a science and innovation policy consultant in Denmark and Norway, and as an PhD fellow then Assistant Professor at the Copenhagen Business School. In both these positions, I undertook research and analyses of interdisciplinary research collaboration. Key themes included the benefits, challenges, organization and funding of interdisciplinary (and multidisciplinary) research collaborations.
