Interest and/or practice of interdisciplinarity:

Research interest in (i) holistic approaches to urban and regional planning for sustainable development – linking the planning of the physical urban environment to the societal process; (ii)sociocultural aspects of planning and governance (participatory approaches, communicative planning), innovative planning and governance instruments (evaluation tools, GIS). Research experience in linking specific areas of the urban planning process to technical and socio-cultural aspects: urban regeneration – to issues of construction and demolition waste management; energy efficiency – to mobility patterns in the city; regional mobility patterns – to social and cultural inclusion; green infrastructure – technical, ecological and social aspects in urban policy evaluation; cultural heritage protection – to the socio-spatial identity of the urban structure.
